The First Team of Santos Laguna held its final training session this morning at Territorio Santos Modelo, ahead of their trip to the State of Mexico to face Toluca FC in a match corresponding to Matchday 9 of the Apertura 2026 Tournament.
The practice, led by Portuguese strategist Renato Paiva, focused on fine-tuning the final tactical details for the match against the Red Devils, emphasizing the aspects the team will aim to bring to the field at the Nemesio Diez Stadium.
The Warriors arrive at this match after defeating FC Juárez 2-1 at the Estadio Corona. In this game, forward Esteban Lozano scored his first goal as a Warrior, while Argentine midfielder Facundo Caseres made his debut with Santos Laguna, playing the full 90 minutes.
Ezequiel Bullaude also stood out with a goal and an assist against the border team, a performance that earned him a spot in the Matchday 8 Best XI. Meanwhile, Mauricio Cuevas recorded his second assist of the tournament, solidifying his role as one of the key contributors to the team's offensive play.
After concluding the session, the squad will have lunch at the TSM facilities and then begin their journey to the city of Toluca, where they will hold their pre-match concentration.

This Sunday’s activities for Santos also include matches for the Under-21 and Under-19 teams, who will face their counterparts from Toluca FC at the Metepec facilities as part of Matchday 9 of the Apertura 2026 Tournament.
The Under-21 team will take the field at 9:00 AM, aiming to secure three points to remain in playoff positions. Currently, the Warriors are in eighth place in the standings with 12 points.
Later, at 11:30 AM, it will be the turn of the Under-19 team, which will look to continue its positive run in the tournament and earn points in the State of Mexico.
