OSWALDO JAVIER SÁNCHEZ IBARRA

Oswaldo joined the albiverdes ranks in the Clausura 2007 Tournament, with the task of leading the team in the fight to remain in the First Division. After achieving this goal and with his valuable contribution, in the following years Santos established itself as one of the leading teams in our country.

The starting goalkeeper and captain of the Guerreros for 16 tournaments played a total of 296 matches, with more than 26,000 minutes on the field.

He was responsible for lifting the trophies of the titles won by the verdiblanca institution in the Clausura 2008 and Clausura 2012 Tournaments, as well as competing in various final stages both nationally and internationally, highlighting the two runner-up finishes achieved in the CONCACAF Champions League.

JAVIER FRANCISCO BORGETTI ECHEVARRÍA

SEASONS: WINTER 1996 TO CLOSURE 2004

Tall player with great scoring ability, a specialist in headers. Emerging from the Rojinegros del Atlas, he was transferred to Santos Laguna for the Winter 1996 tournament, where he won the first of his two championships and scored 16 goals, playing every possible minute.

He won two scoring titles with the albiverde jersey, in Winter 2000 and Summer 2001, a tournament in which he became champion again with Santos, scoring 22 goals.

He played 295 league matches with the lagunero team and scored 189 goals, becoming the top scorer in Santos Laguna's history. In total, he played 314 matches and scored 205 goals.

He was recognized as the best player in Mexican football and the best forward in 2000 and 2001, as well as the best forward in 2002. At the level of the Mexican National Team, Jared has an outstanding record, being the top scorer in the history of El Tri with 46 goals. As a Santos Laguna player, he participated in the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup, the 2001 Confederations Cup, the 2001 and 2004 Copa América, and the 2003 Gold Cup.

RODRIGO PATRICIO RUIZ DE BARBIERI

SEASONS: SUMMER 2000 TO OPENING 2007 / OPENING 2010 TO CLOSURE 2011

Iconic Chilean player who arrived in Mexico to play for Puebla in the 2004-2005 season. Possessing great technique, dribbling skills, and one-on-one ability. A natural playmaker who mastered both feet and delivered precise passes to his teammates.

He joined the Lagunero team in the Summer of 2000 to build a remarkable career over 14 tournaments. In six of them, he was the league's assist leader. He was a key player in the Warriors' championship victory in 2001, forming an explosive partnership with Jared Borgetti, significantly contributing to his two scoring titles. Later, he paired with Matías Vuoso, who also boasts a two-time individual scoring championship.

He played 294 matches wearing the Warriors' jersey, scored 59 goals, and provided 78 assists. He is the foreign player with the most matches in the Mexican League, with 638 appearances, nearly half of which were spent defending the colors of Santos.

CHRISTIAN ROGELIO BENÍTEZ BETANCOURT

SEASONS: APERTURA 2007 TO CLAUSURA 2009 / APERTURA 2010 TO CLAUSURA 2011

With the precedent of having been named the best player of 2006 in his country, Christian Benítez arrived at the Comarca Lagunera, signed by Santos Laguna for the Apertura 07.

In his first tournament in Mexico, he contributed significantly to the team's historic super-leadership, and six months later, his performances were crucial in achieving the institution's third championship, earning the award for Best Player of the Clausura 2008.

Benítez's first stint with the Guerreros shows a total of 60 games played and nearly five thousand minutes on the field, during which he scored 31 goals and provided seven assists.

Thanks to his achievements with the Santista club, Benítez moved to the Premier League in England with Birmingham City.

Upon returning from his British experience, "Chucho" donned the Santista jersey again for the Apertura 2010, a tournament in which he scored 16 goals and became the top scorer. In this second stint, he played 35 matches and scored 20 goals.

He was one of the key players for the Ecuadorian national team, with which he debuted on August 17, 2005, and later had the opportunity to participate in the 2006 FIFA World Cup held in Germany.
