Within the framework of the Santos Peñoles Cup 2026, the Guerreros de Corazón category concluded its activities after three days full of emotions, camaraderie, and learning, establishing itself as one of the most representative spaces of the commitment to inclusion within the tournament.

Driven by the ongoing focus of Club Santos Laguna and Industrias Peñoles on fostering environments of healthy recreation and development for new generations, this category reaffirms the power of sports as a tool for integration, providing people with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to compete, connect, and grow both on and off the field.

The activities took place at the Territorio Santos Modelo facilities, where teams from different regions of the country, such as the Comarca Lagunera, Chihuahua, Nuevo León, and Chiapas, experienced the opportunity to be part of an international tournament in a professional setting, creating unforgettable memories for both players and their families.

The atmosphere during the event was one of the most remarkable aspects, with stands filled with enthusiasm, cheers, chants, and constant displays of support, reflecting the joy and pride of each participant in fulfilling the dream of playing in this setting.

In this regard, Laura Kalb de Irarragorri, President of Ganar Sirviendo, shared:

“It’s truly incredible to see the number of young people and children with intellectual disabilities who now have the opportunity to play sports; we promote inclusion and teamwork in this Santos Peñoles Cup, and for them and their families, it’s an immense joy.”

Regarding the atmosphere that distinguishes this category, she added:

“The atmosphere of the Santos Peñoles Cup is very beautiful; you hear the cheers and chants from the families, and you can see the joy of all the athletes as they fulfill their dream of participating in the tournament.”

She also highlighted that this initiative, inspired by international models such as Spain's Liga Genuine, has managed to establish itself within the Cup, now marking five years of implementation.

Finally, she emphasized the central message driving this category:

“For us at Orlegi Sports and Club Santos Laguna, sports are a wonderful way to inspire the community; promoting inclusion is a reminder that we can all play sports. It’s an incredible category because everyone comes to compete and connect, and that’s why all the teams receive a trophy and medal.”

In this way, the Guerreros de Corazón category continues to leave its mark, not only for what happens on the field but also for the social impact it generates, strengthening values such as empathy, respect, and inclusion in every edition of the Santos Peñoles Cup.
