THREE WARRIOR ACADEMY PLAYERS WILL REPRESENT MEXICO IN THE FMF SUPERCUP 2026
The Santos youth players Edgar Medina and Guillermo Gutiérrez were called up by coach Marvin Carrera to join the Mexico U-15 National Team, which will compete in the FMF Supercup 2026 from July 14 to 17.
The national team will begin its participation on July 14, facing the El Camino USA National Team. Subsequently, on July 15, they will play against the Tamaulipas National Team, and finally, on July 16, they will conclude their participation in the group stage against the Amateur Sector National Team. All three matches will take place at 9:00 a.m.
Additionally, forward Joan Contreras was called up by the Mexico U-14 National Team to compete in the FMF Supercup 2026, a tournament in which the team led by José Antonio Castro will face the "El Camino USA" National Team on July 14, the Aguascalientes National Team on July 15, and the Amateur Sector National Team on July 16, with all matches scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
These call-ups reaffirm the consistent presence of Club Santos Laguna players in the various categories of National Teams. Just last June, the institution had eight representatives in different national squads.
Carlos Acevedo was part of the Mexico National Team in the FIFA World Cup 2026; Kathya Mendoza was called up by the Ecuador National Team for the CONMEBOL Nations League FIFA Date; Tahiel Jiménez and Geovanni Pérez joined the Mexico U-23 National Team; Juan Carlos Echilvestre, Sahiel Cedillo, and Luis Ángel Gómez represented Mexico U-20 in the Revelations Cup; while Diego Mejía participated with the El Salvador U-20 National Team during their preparation tour in Atlanta, United States.
