The Warriors Geovanni Pérez and Tahiel Jiménez concluded their participation in the Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 with the achievement of the silver medal, after the Mexico National Team played the grand final against Venezuela.
In the match for the gold medal, the Aztec team fell in a penalty shootout against the Venezuelan team, after a game in which both center-back Geovanni Pérez and forward Tahiel Jiménez were starters.
Both Santos players had consistent participation throughout the international competition, being key pieces in the journey of the Mexican National Team to the decisive stage of the tournament.
Although the national team came up just short of winning the gold, the performance displayed throughout the event allowed them to remain a prominent figure on the international stage and once again reach a final in a competition of this significance.
For “Gio” and Tahiel, this experience represents an important step in their respective processes, gaining valuable minutes and lessons on the international stage, while also strengthening their development and consolidation as players of Club Santos Laguna.
