Santos Laguna defeated Pachuca by a score of 1-0 in a match corresponding to the 10th round of the Apertura 2026 Tournament, held tonight at the Estadio Corona. With this result, the Warriors secured their third consecutive victory in the competition.
With great support from the Warrior Fans, more than 21,000 spectators gathered at the Estadio Corona to enjoy a special night, which included various activities, music, games, and surprises before and during the match.
As part of the special activities, Santos Laguna and Soriana honored Hilario Gerardo Ruiz Reyes, a para-athlete from Torreón with over seven years of experience in sports competitions, who recently received the Crystal Trophy for Persons with Disabilities as part of the Distinguished Citizenship 2026 awards in Torreón.
Additionally, limited edition jerseys resulting from the collaboration between Visión and Santos Laguna were unveiled.
On the field, from the opening minutes, the albiverde team created chances near the visitors' goal. In the 5th minute, Ezequiel Bullaude tried a long-range shot, and six minutes later, he was close to opening the scoring again, but goalkeeper Carlos Moreno intervened to prevent the goal.
The Warriors maintained their initiative and continued creating opportunities. In the 16th minute, Diego González shot with his left foot as Moreno came out, while Bullaude and González led the main offensive attempts during the first half.
In the final moments of the first half, Esteban Lozano was fouled inside the box, prompting the referee to award a penalty. The Spanish player Fran Villalba took the shot and beat Moreno to put Santos Laguna ahead, scoring for the second consecutive match.
In the second half, Renato Paiva's team maintained the same dynamic, seeking to extend their lead and showing defensive solidity.
In the 58th minute, Eduardo “El Mudo” Aguirre came on as a substitute for Kevin Palacios.
Shortly after the hour mark, Esteban Lozano came close to increasing the lead with a shot that once again required an intervention from the visiting goalkeeper.
In the 72nd minute, Aldo López and Ramiro Sordo entered the field, replacing Fran Villalba and Esteban Lozano, respectively.
In the remaining minutes, the Warriors continued creating chances and maintained defensive order to preserve their lead.
In added time, Geovanni Pérez and Emmanuel Echeverría came on for Efraín Orona and Diego González.
With strong support from the Santista Fans, the Warriors secured the victory and earned three points for the second consecutive match at the Estadio Corona, extending their winning streak to three in the Apertura 2026.
