Santos Laguna Femenil fell to Rayadas on Matchday 3

In activity of matchday 3 of the Apertura 2026 Tournament, Santos Laguna Femenil fell 4-1 to Rayadas in a match played tonight at Estadio Corona.

The visitors took the lead in the 5th minute when Jermaine Seoposenwe put the Monterrey team ahead with a right-footed shot inside the box.

In the 19th minute, Lucía García extended the lead from the penalty spot after a foul was called on Alejandra Lua.

The third goal came in the 32nd minute through Daniela Monroy, who capitalized on a corner kick to increase Rayadas' advantage.

For the Guerreras, the most significant chances in the first half came from Samantha Calvillo, who tried in the 29th minute with a shot that was blocked. Later, Doménica Rodríguez attempted in the 33rd minute, while Calvillo again created danger in the 37th minute with a shot that went wide.

In the second half, Sandra Nabweteme came on for Samantha Calvillo, and Gineva López replaced Sarina Villa.

The Guerreras balanced the game in the second half. Nabweteme herself tried from long range, and her shot went just wide of the goal, while Vivian Ikechukwu made a run down the right side and sent a dangerous cross that could not be finished.

Later, Ahtziri Méndez came on in place of Ariatna Dorantes.

In the final moments of the match, Nayeli Díaz replaced Vivian Ikechukwu, and the last substitution saw Amaya Arias come on for Yessenia Novella.

In the 85th minute, an unfortunate play by Amaya Arias resulted in an own goal, increasing Rayadas' lead to 4-0.

In stoppage time, Ahtziri Méndez scored for the Guerreras with a header, setting the final score at 4-1.

The match also marked the debut of Salvadoran defender Sarina Villa as a Guerrera, who recently won the bronze medal at the Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026.

Additionally, Ahtziri Méndez, Nayeli Díaz, and Amaya Arias played their first minutes as Santos Laguna players.

Meanwhile, Vivian Ikechukwu returned to action after serving a suspension from the previous tournament.

The Guerreras will continue their activity next Saturday when they visit FC Juárez at 7:06 PM at Estadio Olímpico Benito Juárez in a match corresponding to matchday 4 of the Apertura 2026 Tournament.
