SAHIEL CEDILLO PLAYED HIS FIRST MINUTES IN LIGA MX

The Santos youth player Nelson Sahiel Cedillo Velázquez, 19 years old and born in Saltillo, Coahuila, experienced a special night this Saturday at the Estadio Corona, making his debut in Liga MX with the Santos Laguna First Team in the match against América.

The albiverde midfielder started the match as a starter, playing a total of 86 minutes before being substituted by Geovanni Pérez.

Sahiel began his journey in the Guerreros Academy in the Under-14 category during the Apertura 2021 Tournament. He also represented the Santos teams in the Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-19, Under-21, and Under-23 categories.

During his developmental stage, he played in three finals: in the Clausura 2023 Tournament with the Under-16 team, in the Apertura 2024 Tournament with the Under-17 team, and in the Apertura 2025 Tournament with the Under-21 team.

At the international level, Sahiel Cedillo has also represented Mexico in the Under-18 and Under-20 categories.
