SANTOS TIED AGAINST AMÉRICA SHOWING THEIR WARRIOR DNA

With determination, character, and Warrior DNA, Santos Laguna drew 1-1 against América on Saturday night at Estadio Corona. In a high-intensity match, the albiverde team showed grit and determination from start to finish in a game corresponding to matchday 13 of the Clausura 2026.
The first dangerous play for the Warriors came in the 14th minute, following a high shot on target by Argentine Lucas di Yorio, which was saved on the goal line by Erick Sánchez.
The verdiblanco team continued pressing with the mission of making their presence felt in the opponent's goal. A couple of minutes later, Ezequiel Bullaude appeared inside the box, but as he tried to get past Rodolfo Cota, the América goalkeeper deflected the ball to a corner kick.
In the 20th minute, a diagonal pass from the right side by Aldo López came very close to reaching Lucas di Yorio's feet, but defender Israel Reyes prevented what could have been the first goal for Santos that night.
Near the end of the first half, due to a strong head collision, Aldo López left the field; Tahiel Jiménez came on in his place.
In added time, Javier Güémez attempted a first-time shot, which ended up in the hands of the visiting goalkeeper.
In the second half, during the opening minutes, goalkeeper Carlos Acevedo made a couple of key saves to protect his goal.
Shortly after, Tahiel Jiménez rose high to head the ball after a cross from Fran Villalba; the Santos striker's header went slightly wide of América's goal.
In the 70th minute, Ramiro Sordo returned to action with the Warriors, replacing Ezequiel Bullaude.
Defender Kevin Picón was sent off in the 77th minute after receiving a straight red card.
Minutes later, Cristian Dájome and Juan Carlos Echilvestre came on for Lucas di Yorio and Fran Villalba.
Midfielder Alexis Gutiérrez put América ahead in the 79th minute.
With a man down, the Warriors managed to equalize in the 82nd minute, thanks to a powerful right-footed shot by Colombian Cristian Dájome.
To close the match, the Santos coaching staff sent Geovanni Pérez onto the field in place of debutant Sahiel Cedillo.
Under the guidance of Omar Tapia, the team came from behind and, despite the challenges of the match, secured a very important point with the support of the Laguna fans at Estadio Corona.
