THE UNDER-19 WARRIORS CONCLUDE AN OUTSTANDING CLOSURE 2026 WITH THE RUNNER-UP TITLE
Club Santos Laguna U-19 concluded their participation in the Clausura 2026 Tournament as runners-up in the category, after falling in the Final against Tijuana with an aggregate score of 4-1.
The second leg match was played this Sunday at the Estadio Corona, where the visitors secured a narrow victory, on an afternoon highlighted by the support and great response from the verdiblanca fans.
Despite not securing the title, the Warriors once again delivered a high-level competitive semester, reaching their second consecutive Final and consolidating the work done at the Guerrera Academy.
During the regular phase of the Clausura 2026, the Santos team recorded a balance of eight wins, four draws, and five losses, results that allowed them to qualify for the playoffs in the category.
The team led by Agustín Herrera stood out as the best offense of the tournament with 38 goals, in addition to having the tournament's top scorer, Alex "Pez" Valencia, who scored 15 goals in 16 matches played.
In the Final Phase, Santos Laguna eliminated Puebla FC in the Quarterfinals with an aggregate score of 4-3, and then Toluca FC by 5-4 in the Semifinals, resolving both series as visitors before facing Xolos in the decisive series.
It is worth noting that several players from this generation were also key figures in winning the 2025 International Youth Tournament championship, reflecting the growth and projection of Santos' talent.
