The First Team of Santos Laguna concluded their preparation this Saturday for the match against América, corresponding to matchday 3 of the Apertura 2026 Tournament, which will take place this Sunday at 5:00 PM at the Banorte Stadium.
On Saturday morning, the team led by Renato Paiva held their final training session at Territorio Santos Modelo, where they fine-tuned the last tactical and footballing details ahead of the clash against the Águilas.
With this practice, the Warriors wrapped up a week of work that included five high-intensity training sessions, carried out in a positive environment with the goal of arriving in the best possible condition for the match against the azulcrema team.
After sharing a meal, the Santos squad will head to Torreón International Airport to begin their journey to Mexico City, where they will remain focused ahead of the match.
In this way, Santos Laguna has completed their weekly preparation and declares themselves ready to face their second away game of the current tournament, with the conviction of emerging victorious from Banorte Stadium and continuing to advance toward the objectives set for the Apertura 2026 Tournament.
Once the match against América is over, the Warriors will return to the Comarca Lagunera to immediately focus their attention on the start of their participation in the Leagues Cup 2026.
ACTIVITY OF THE WARRIOR ACADEMY
This Sunday, the Under-21 and Under-19 categories of Santos Laguna will also face América at the Coapa facilities.
In the Under-21 category, the Warriors will take on the Águilas at 9:00 AM on Field 2 of Coapa, in a match where they will aim to maintain their unbeaten record at the start of the Apertura 2026 Tournament. On matchday 1, the Santos team won as visitors against Rayados, while on matchday 2 they drew 0-0 against Atlas at home.
Meanwhile, the Under-19 team will face the azulcrema squad at 11:30 AM on Field 4 of Coapa, with the intention of continuing on a positive path in the tournament. In their debut, the Warriors defeated Rayados 1-0 as visitors, while on matchday 2 they drew 0-0 against Atlas at home.
