Santos Laguna will make their debut as visitors in the Apertura 2026 Tournament when they face Querétaro this Saturday, August 8, at 5:00 PM, at Estadio La Corregidora, in a match corresponding to matchday 2 of the Women's League.

The Guerreras arrive at this match after a week of preparation in which they aimed to fine-tune details ahead of their first away game of the tournament. It is worth mentioning that during the preseason, the verdiblanco team already faced Querétaro, a match they won 3-1, with goals from Ariatna Dorantes, Yessenia Novella, and Vivian Ikechukwu.

In the opening match against América, five of the new project’s reinforcements, Laveni Vaka, Carol Fernanda Soto, Ariatna Dorantes, Ivonne González, and Karen de León, played their first official minutes wearing the Santos Laguna jersey.

Looking ahead to this match against Querétaro, the Guerreras will aim to secure their first three points of the tournament, in a game that also represents their first test as visitors in the Apertura 2026.

The Santos Laguna Women’s project for this tournament was strengthened with the addition of ten new players: Maried Rodríguez (goalkeeper), Gineva López (center-back), Sarina Villa (center-back), Laveni Vaka (center-back), Carol Fernanda Soto (full-back), Karen de León (defensive midfielder), Amaya Sparkle Arias (defensive midfielder), Ivonne González (winger), Ahtziri Méndez (winger), and Ariatna Dorantes (forward).

On the National Teams front, defender Sarina Villa had an outstanding performance with El Salvador in the Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026, where she won the bronze medal.

The verdiblanco defender was part of the victories over the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica in the Group Stage, matches in which El Salvador did not concede any goals. She played in the Semifinal against Mexico, which was decided in extra time, and concluded her participation with a 2-1 victory over Venezuela, earning third place for the Salvadoran team.

Santos Laguna Women will look to capitalize on their week of preparation to secure their first victory of the tournament in their visit to Querétaro.
