Santos Laguna Femenil will make their debut in the Apertura 2026 Tournament of the Women's League this Monday at 7:00 PM, when they host Águilas del América at the Estadio Corona, in a match that will close the activity of matchday 1.
The team led by Jhonathan Lazcano arrives at this commitment after their final week of preparation at Territorio Santos Modelo, where they trained from Tuesday to Saturday in evening sessions, and will finalize their preparations this Sunday with an afternoon session at the Estadio Corona, during which they will make the last adjustments ahead of their debut.
This final stretch comes after an intense preseason, which included work both in La Laguna and in the central part of the country, where the team played a series of preparation matches, drawing 1-1 against Cruz Azul, defeating Atlante by a narrow margin, and winning 3-1 against Querétaro, before closing with a narrow loss to Rayadas in Monterrey, which allowed them to strengthen their collective performance and fine-tune the final footballing details.
The albiverde team approaches this Apertura 2026 as the start of a new project, after the Club introduced ten players as the new Guerreras: goalkeeper Maried Rodríguez; central defenders Gineva López, Sarina Villa, and Laveni Vaka; full-back Carol Fernanda Soto; defensive midfielders Karen Lucía de León and Amaya Arias; wingers Ivonne Areli González and Ahtziri Méndez; and forward Ariatna Dorantes.
With this outlook, the goal of the Guerreras, led by Jhonathan Lazcano, will be to start the Apertura 2026 Tournament positively this Monday against América at the Estadio Corona.
