Club Santos Laguna announces that midfielder Diego Lucas González Alcaraz has officially joined the First Team.

Diego González arrives at Santos Laguna with experience in Mexican and international football, including his time in the Italian League. Additionally, he has been called up to Paraguay's Youth and Senior National Teams.

Diego was born on January 7, 2003, in Alto Paraná, Paraguay, and is 23 years old.

Trained at Club Libertad in Paraguay, González began his professional career at the age of 18 with Potros del Este in Panama's First Division in 2021. He later moved to Peruvian football with Universidad San Martín de Porres and subsequently joined Mexican football with Club Celaya in the Liga de Expansión MX.

His growth and development, along with his participation in Paraguay's youth national teams, placed him on the radar of European football, leading to his signing with S. S. Lazio in 2023.

Diego González returned to Mexican football with Atlas FC for the Clausura 2025 Tournament; he debuted on January 18, 2025, and accumulated 49 matches in Liga MX, along with over 3,300 minutes of play.

At the international level, he was part of Paraguay's U-20 and U-23 National Teams, participating in the process leading up to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Additionally, he debuted with the Senior National Team on October 10, 2025, in a match against Japan, playing in three more preparation matches.

Diego González will begin a new chapter with Santos Laguna, aiming to contribute his talent, dynamism, and potential to the Guerrero team.
