DEFEAT OF SANTOS LAGUNA IN POTOSINO TERRITORY
Santos Laguna was defeated by a score of 2-0 against Atlético de San Luis, in a match corresponding to the penultimate round of the Clausura 2026 Tournament, held at the Libertad Financiera Stadium.
The match began evenly, with both teams trying to impose their conditions, although without clear dominance in the opening minutes.
The first dangerous opportunity for the Guerreros came in the 15th minute, when Lucas di Yorio came close to gaining possession of the ball during a play by the opposing goalkeeper, who ended up committing a foul to stop the advance.
In the 20th minute, Héctor Holguín made a notable save by stopping an attempt inside the box by Eduardo Águila. Subsequently, the home team created a couple of chances, including a header that went just over the crossbar.
Santos responded in the 37th minute with a low cross from Emmanuel Echeverría that Ezequiel Bullaude tried to connect with inside the box but failed to direct the ball.
In the final moments of the first half, Holguín made another crucial save against a shot by Lucas Esteves. In the following play, the albiverdes created danger with a pass from Fran Villalba to Aldo López, who took a cross-shot that hit the post.

The match remained intense, with significant plays in both areas. In the 63rd minute, after a VAR review, a red card initially shown to Eduardo Águila was overturned.
The Guerreros made their first substitutions in the 69th minute, with Luis Ángel Gómez replacing Aldo López, and later Cristian Dájome came on for Ezequiel Bullaude.
In the final stretch of the match, in the 81st minute, a penalty was awarded to San Luis but was annulled for offside after a review.
It was in the 85th minute when the home team managed to open the scoring, with a goal by Leo Flores after a low pass inside the box.
In stoppage time, Santos tried to respond, with a standout individual play by Luis Ángel Gómez that ended with a shot over the goal.
However, moments later, Joao Pedro scored the second goal for the Potosinos, sealing the final score at 2-0.
During added time, Javier Abella, Ramiro Sordo, and Tahiel Jiménez came on for Kevin Picón, Fran Villalba, and Salvador Mariscal, respectively.
