CATEGORY WARRIORS OF HEART LEAVE THEIR MARK IN THE SANTOS PEÑOLES CUP 2026
Within the framework of the Santos Peñoles Cup 2026, the activities of the Guerreros de Corazón category concluded, leaving a great impression on all its participants and reaffirming the value of this space within the tournament.
Targeted at individuals with intellectual disabilities aged between 12 and 35, this category's main objective is to promote inclusion, sports development, and healthy interaction, using sports as a tool for social integration and the strengthening of physical and emotional skills.
The activities took place from April 30 to May 3 at Territorio Santos Modelo, where teams, associations, and sports institutions experienced a formative and competitive event in a professional and safe environment.
This category once again stood out for the energy, joy, and camaraderie experienced in every match, creating a meaningful experience for players, coaches, and families alike.
Mariana Alvidrez, General Manager of Ganar Sirviendo, shared her reflections after the conclusion of the category's activities in this edition:
“It was three days of very intense competition; the players are characterized by having a unique energy, celebrating very enthusiastically, and always being very happy. Everyone left this Cup very pleased. The coaches gave us positive feedback. The truth is that the Santos Peñoles Cup leaves a very good impression on all of us who are part of it.”
She also highlighted what it means for the participants to experience this in a professional environment like Territorio Santos Modelo:
“The experience of being at the home of the Guerreros, Territorio Santos Modelo, is something very special because they can see up close the Corona Stadium, the Training Center, the fields where the First Team trains, and more. We know this is something the athletes truly appreciate.”
Finally, she emphasized the main message that drives this category within the tournament:
“What is rewarded in this tournament is camaraderie. The message we want to send is one of inclusion, to say that in this Cup there is a space for everyone, young and old, and that athletes with intellectual disabilities can have an experience equal to the other categories. That is what we aim to convey: fostering an inclusive society.”
In this way, Guerreros de Corazón concludes its participation in this edition, while the activities of the Santos Peñoles Cup continue to unfold across its various categories.
