Santos youth players Edgar Medina and Guillermo Gutiérrez, members of the Mexico U-15 National Team, as well as Joan Contreras, a U-14 national team player, concluded their participation in the FMF Super Cup 2026 on a positive note. The tournament was held from July 14 to 17.

Edgar Medina had an outstanding performance with the U-15 team led by Marvin Cabrera. The defender made his debut with the Mexico National Team by coming on as a substitute in the first match against the El Camino USA team, where he came close to scoring after hitting a shot off the post.

Subsequently, he started in the matches against the Tamaulipas team and the Amateur Sector team. In the Grand Final, he came on as a substitute in the second half and contributed with an assist in one of Mexico's winning goals.

Meanwhile, Guillermo Gutiérrez was also an important player for the U-15 national team. The midfielder participated in all four matches of the tournament, coming on as a substitute in the debut against El Camino USA. In the second match, against Tamaulipas, he started, played the first half, and recorded two assists in the 3-0 victory. He later saw action against the Amateur Sector team and in the Grand Final, where Mexico triumphed decisively with a 6-0 score to claim the title.

In the U-14 category, forward Joan Contreras was one of the standout players of the tournament under the guidance of Carlos Cariño. He started as a starter in the debut against the El Camino USA team, a match in which he scored a goal.

Later, he added minutes by coming on as a substitute against the Aguascalientes team and closed the tournament with outstanding performances, scoring a brace against the Amateur Sector team in the group stage and another in the Grand Final, finishing with a total of five goals. Thanks to his impressive goal-scoring tally, the Santos forward was crowned the top scorer of the FMF Super Cup 2026.
