In addition to providing a top-level sports competition, this event allows the transmission of the values shared by Club Santos Laguna and Industrias Peñoles to girls, boys, young people, and their families, contributing to the reconstruction of the social fabric.

The presentation conference featured the participation of Alejandro Irarragorri Kalb, President of Club Santos Laguna; Antonio Baca, Liaison Manager of Industrias Peñoles; Mara Fájer, Director of Impulso Orlegi; and Lino Juárez, Coordinator of Santos Peñoles Academies, who shared the details and scope of this competition.

He also highlighted the growth of the tournament, which has expanded from 40 teams in its early days to more than 400 today, as well as its positive impact on the region, generating significant economic benefits with the arrival of thousands of visitors to the Comarca Lagunera.

For his part, Antonio Baca emphasized the commitment to social development through sports, underscoring that the Santos Peñoles Cup is an initiative that reflects the values shared with Club Santos Laguna.

Meanwhile, Mara Fájer shared the operational details of the event, announcing that the opening ceremony will take place on April 30 at the Estadio Corona, while the sports activities will be held from May 1 to May 5 across 15 venues, with Territorio Santos Modelo as the main stage.

For this edition, more than 400 teams and nearly 7,000 players will participate, including international representatives from Colombia and the United States. The competition will include male and female categories, as well as the Guerreros de Corazón category, aimed at individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Among the main innovations is the implementation of a digital platform for team registration, comprehensive medical coverage throughout the competition, and the finals being held at the Estadio Corona, providing a unique experience for participants.

Additionally, an attendance of over 50,000 people is expected throughout the tournament, which will also feature scouts from Orlegi Sports.

As part of this grand celebration, the 2026 Santos Peñoles International Cup will kick off with a spectacular opening ceremony on April 30 at the Estadio Corona, bringing together thousands of attendees in an atmosphere full of excitement and sportsmanship.
