The Mexican U-23 National Team advanced to the Final of the Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026, after decisively defeating Panama with a score of 4-0 in the Semifinals, in a match they dominated from start to finish.
In this match, Geovanni Pérez was once again part of the Tricolor's starting eleven and played the full 90 minutes. Meanwhile, Tahiel Jiménez remained an option as a substitute on this occasion.
With this result, Mexico secured its ticket to the Final, where they will aim to win the gold medal in the regional competition. The title match will take place this Friday, August 7, against the winner of the other Semifinal, which will feature Colombia and Venezuela.
Warrior Players on the Road to the Final
Both Tahiel Jiménez and Geovanni Pérez have had outstanding performances throughout the tournament, contributing to the national team during key moments of the competition.
One of Tahiel's standout moments came during the Group Stage, when the Santos forward delivered an exceptional performance against Guatemala, scoring a hat-trick and playing a decisive role in the Tricolor's victory.
For his part, “Gio” also made his mark in the Group Stage by scoring a goal against the Dominican Republic, which secured a draw for Mexico.
Tahiel Jiménez and Geovanni Pérez are among the 11 Warrior players who have received call-ups to various national teams during the months of July and August.
