Santos Laguna U-19 started their participation in the Apertura 2026 Tournament with a victory, defeating Rayados de Monterrey by a score of 1-0 in a match corresponding to matchday 1, held on Saturday morning at the El Barrial facilities.

In the early minutes of the second half, goalkeeper Matías Velázquez saved a penalty, keeping his goal untouched.

Inspired by that action, the Warriors found their reward in the 57th minute when Ángel Ibarra finished a cross to secure the first victory for Santos in the tournament.

With this result, Santos Laguna U-19 began the championship with three points.

The next challenge for the Albiverdes will be on Saturday, July 25, when they host Atlas FC at Territorio Santos Modelo as part of matchday 2 of the Apertura 2026.
