* The large attendance recorded at Estadio Corona once again reflected the passion and unconditional support of the Guerreros' fans. Beyond the result, the synergy between the team and its supporters was felt at all times, driving the albiverdes throughout the 90 minutes.

Santos Laguna and Atlas FC faced off tonight at Estadio Corona in Territorio Santos Modelo, as part of matchday 2 of the Apertura 2026 Tournament, in a game that ended with a narrow victory for the visiting team.

The Guerreros created the first dangerous opportunity just in the 6th minute, following a cross from the right side by Mauricio Cuevas, which was close to being connected by Fran Villalba.

In the 28th minute, Emmanuel Echeverría entered the box with a series of dribbles and then struck with his left foot, sending the ball directly to the post of the goal defended by Camilo Vargas.

In the second half, Lucas di Yorio had a couple of chances to make his mark on the scoreboard but was unable to convert them.

In the 65th minute, Atlas FC took the lead through Edgar Zaldívar.

Immediately after, Paraguayan Diego González entered the field, replacing Lucas di Yorio.

In the 71st minute, Aldo López and Eduardo Aguirre came on for Carlos Gruezo and Ramiro Sordo.

In the final substitution window for the albiverdes, Kevin Picón and Joshua Mancha replaced Mauricio Cuevas and Salvador Mariscal.

After this match, the team led by Renato Paiva will focus on preparing for their next game, corresponding to matchday 3 of the Apertura 2026 Tournament, when they visit Club América next Sunday, August 3, at Estadio Banorte.
