Santos Laguna continues their preparation to face Cruz Azul in a match corresponding to Matchday 7 of the Apertura 2026 Tournament, which will take place this Sunday at 8:00 PM at the Banorte Stadium.
The Warriors trained this morning at the Santos Modelo Territory under the guidance of their Head Coach, Renato Paiva, following the work plan established for this week.
During the practice, the green-and-white team performed activation exercises, technical-tactical drills, and activities focused on specific aspects of collective performance.
On the other hand, forward Esteban Lozano is now fully training with his new teammates, aiming to integrate into the team in the best possible way and adapt to the squad's dynamics.
Santos Laguna will continue their activities from Thursday to Saturday, with morning sessions every day at their headquarters.
On Saturday afternoon, the Warriors will travel to Mexico City to face their commitment against the cement team.
After the draw against Tigres at the Corona Stadium last Saturday, the team remains focused on earning points and continuing to improve various aspects of their game, as mentioned by Argentine defender Franco Pardo:
“After the match against Tigres, we were left with a bitter taste because we felt we could have won, but it was a very important point for us.”
Regarding the match against Cruz Azul, the South American defender added:
“Sunday will be a very important match for us because we are returning to a great stadium (Banorte) to face a great team. The details have cost us both defensively and offensively. We will try to keep improving. We are convinced of the idea.”
As for his adaptation process to Liga MX, Pardo emphasized the importance of continuing to contribute to the collective performance:
“Liga MX is very competitive. In my case, I am happy to adapt by playing and helping the team. Our current situation is not the best, but I try to help the team in any way I can and strive to do my best every day.”
