Ahead of the upcoming match against Puebla FC in the 5th round of AP26, Santos Laguna player Mauricio Cuevas highlighted the positive aspects the verdiblanco team has shown during the first rounds, while emphasizing the importance of continuing to work on the details to achieve their set goals.
In a press conference, Cuevas emphasized the work done under the technical direction of Renato Paiva, acknowledging that the team has shown good moments, although there are still aspects to refine:
“The truth is that positive points have been seen, starting with Renato Paiva and with the squad we have. Regarding the matches that have passed, we know we’ve had good moments, but we need to fine-tune different details. When big things come, it sometimes gets harder. Football changes from one day to the next, so we have to stay focused on the match against Puebla FC.”
Regarding the next opponent, the defender highlighted the characteristics of La Franja and the importance of approaching the match with maximum effort:
“We know that Puebla FC is a very vertical team that plays a lot on the flanks. Every match for us is a final, that’s how we see it, so we have to give our all, but ultimately, we are focused on ourselves.”
