The Mexico National Team, led by coach Rafael Márquez, announced its first call-up at the start of the Tricolor's journey toward the 2030 World Cup.

As part of this call-up, in addition to the 30 players included in the main list, Santos Laguna's full-back Juan Carlos Echilvestre, who has been part of the Guerreros Academy since the Under-14 category, was called up to support the national team's training at the High-Performance Center of the Mexican Football Federation.

Echilvestre has recent experience with the Youth National Teams, having been part of the Mexican team that was crowned champion of the Concacaf Under-20 Championship.

During that competition, the Santos academy player had an outstanding performance in the Quarterfinals against Panama, a match in which he scored a header that contributed to Mexico's advancement to the next round.

At the club level, Echilvestre made his Liga MX debut in March 2026, in the match between Santos Laguna and Cruz Azul.
