The verdiblanco youth player Geovanni Pérez was part of the recent training camp of the Mexican U-23 National Team, led by coach Eduardo Arce. During this period, in addition to working at the High-Performance Center of the Mexican Football Federation, he participated in a couple of friendly matches.

In the first match, the national team faced the Pumas First Team, a game in which they suffered a setback. In this match, the Santos defender came on for the second half.

For the second match, the U-23 Tricolor team dominated with a 4-0 victory against Toluca U-21. In this game, "Gio" was included in the starting eleven, making important contributions in the defensive line to keep the Aztec goal unbeaten.

Pérez joined Santos Laguna in the Apertura 2021 Tournament, starting his process in the youth academy and progressing through the various categories of the Guerrera Academy until making his debut in the Apertura 2024.
