Los Guerreros continue putting in hard work to maintain top place in table

26 de Marzo del 2018 9:01 am.

After their first international friendly in the USA of 2018, los Guerreros returned to Estadio Corona and worked hard over the weekend ahead of their week 13 match against Atlas.

After 12 weeks of League play, the team remains in first place with 26 points, two ahead of Toluca and four points ahead of Tigres. Los Guerreros also dominate the Offensive and Fair Play Tables, with 22 goals scored and only 17 yellow cards received. Djaniny Tavares continues to lead in individual goal scoring with 12 goals.

Head coach Robert Dante Siboldi had the team work on elements of physical fitness and ball controll in confined spaces, while finishing both sessions with an intra-squad scrimmage.

Tavares continues his work apart from the team, looking to bounce back from a minor muscle aggrevation suffered two weeks ago. The African striker trained alongside right-back Jorge Sanchez and attacking midfielder Cris Martinez, both of whom are also rehabbing minor injuries. The players have undergone special monitoring while performing exercises that will see them return to the field in top shape as the final third of the season approcaches.

The team will continue to train in the morning throughout the week and will travel to Gudalajara on Thursday afternoon ahead of their Friday night match against Atlas in Estadio Jalisco.
