As los Guerreros inch nearer to another trip across the border, the team has been picking up victories in league play in hopes of qualifying for a spot in the Liguilla.
The November 11th friendly against Leon comes at the perfect time, and will serve as a serious preparation match to gear up for the team's final game of the regular tournament against Club America at Estadio Corona on November 19.
Julio Furch, who has scored eight goals for Santos this tournament, shares his personal message with fans in California, saying that their support now, more than ever, is fundamental for the team as they fight for a spot in the top eight of the table.
"Our idea from the team's perspective is always to give them a good show, and my message to them would be to come with us, join us, because we also need their support even if they are far away or we don't see them very often," he said.
The Argentine striker scored in Guanajuato during the 2017 Apertura, helping los Guerreros achieve a historic first win at Estadio Leon during week 7. He hopes to do the same at Stub Hub Center in November for Santos' fans, who are always present wherever the team travels in the USA.
"Their support is always great in any city we go. Aside from the games, they're always with us to offer us their support in hotels, and airports etc."
The game against Leon in Carson, California will kick off at 6:00 pm pacific time, with a Fan Fest prior to the game starting at 2:00pm. Tickets can be purchased at stubhubcenter.com or at the stadium's box office.
