Los Guerreros finish strong first half vs. Atlas

For week 13 in Liga MX vs. Atlas,  Santos immediately opened the game on the offensive when Diego de Buen headed a ball into the area from the right to Julio Furch, whose shot from close range deflected off Atlas goalkeeper Oscar Ustari and was quickly cleared by a defender. 

Before the eight minute mark, Javier Abella sent a ball into area looking for Djaniny, but the African's opportunity was intercepted and scooped up by Ustari. 

In the 16th minute, Atlas' Uvaldo Luna got his foot on the ball and sent a grounded shot from the left of the area wide of the far post

Two minutes later, los Guerreros won a corner kick and Gael Sandoval sent a ball into the area, where Djaniny won the ball and sent a pass to Carlos Izquierdoz, who attempted a low header whicerh was saved by Ustari. A minute later, Ustari saved another attempt, this time a close range shot by Djaniny at the near post. 

In the 25th minute, Sandoval received a cross from left midfield and attempted a shot from inside the 18 yard box, but Ustari made the stop. 

Los Guerreros continued continued to have the offensive advantage. After three consecutive free kicks, central defender and Mexican international Nestor Araujo got a foot on the ball and sent a powerful shot from the center of the area just over the crossbar. 

Three minutes later, Brian Lozano sent a cross to Furch, who was running toward the center to make the reception. He sent a shot into the stands. 

Los Guerreros continued to pressure and have the most of the opportunities. To close the final play of the first half, Abella sent a cross into the area looking for Furch, but the two coudn't connect in time andf the ball bounced out of the area. 

The referee blew the halftime whistle after one minute of added time.
